The Scriptures were never given merely to be studied as an intellectual or memory exercise, but to lead the reader to the Saviour they testify about. Apollos knew the Scriptures and spoke with eloquence, yet he still needed to understand more perfectly the way of God. Only when Christ Himself stands at the centre does knowledge become complete. True maturity in the knowledge of Scripture leads to a Christ-centred eloquence, for in Him “are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Self-examination, therefore, is not comparison with others, but reflection before Him. The Living Word – When Eternity Makes Sense
The Logos, Jesus Christ, translated from eternity into time, opened heaven from the inside. Therefore, when He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6, KJV), Jesus was declaring a reality that had already happened and, at the same time, proclaiming the possibility of entering heaven by acknowledging that He is the incarnate Logos and Truth.
