About me

Hi, dear reader,

My name is Ruben Gavriliuc, I am in my early 30s, originally from Romania and I am a Christian. I am passionate about writing and posting my work online. It is my dream that one day I may publish a book. If you have landed on my blog, I hope you find it useful for your personal growth and search for truth. There are a plethora of resources and individuals who put teachings and doctrines about the Bible and God into the public space. That is what intrigued me, and I decided to start writing a blog again.

My journey so far

I have been active online since September 2009, writing and posting on different platforms. That is how I discovered my talent and writing passion. I understood back then that it was not just a talent, but a gift and calling from God. So, I have praised God since then for the things He has given me to serve Him and take the Gospel in areas, where perhaps is not as present as it should be. I must say, I have not had a good consistency with posting and writing, due to many reasons. However, I have learned not to lean on my strength.

In 2018 I moved to the UK, with my wife and our firstborn at the time. After about 3 years we found a church which welcomed us with open wide arms. A few months later, we applied to become members and since then we have become more and more actively involved in the church. I am currently serving the fellowship as a lay preacher and helping out with leading the church services.

My area of study and interest

Understanding the Scriptures

It has been my long passion and desire to have the ability to faithfully understand the Bible. When I read the Bible and analyse people such as Apostle Paul, who had a sound understanding of the Scriptures, it encourages me and makes me envious. Because that’s what many of us are called to be, however, the work to study the Bible, line upon line and precept upon precept, rarely happens. Therefore, I made my life goal to study the Bible and then apply it first of all in my life. In the ministry, God has called me, to be a man who has nothing to be ashamed of. Someone like Apollos, mighty in the Scriptures. That is why I have taken a particular interest in studying Hermeneutics and Theology, because I keep hearing people laying out teachings which are not necessarily confirmed by the Bible. So, when their view is confronted, an attack is thrown back, rather than a defence, to expose where they got that theological understanding from. And I noticed the same type of behaviour in myself, therefore, I decided to study and apply more rigours what the Bible says.

  • Theological Views
  • Bible Criticism
  • Hermeneutics
  • Sceptical Thinking
  • Critical Thinking

Of course, all of the above will include expanding my research and study by reading a lot more from different areas. Such as church history, philosophy, apologetics and so on. But I have learned to contain myself and allow God to lead the way, which has been a blessing so far.

May God bless you, dear reader!

  • My Way and Thy Word – The Contrast in The Mirror03/03/2026
If the Word is the foundation and the path its direction, then the walker’s motivation must be Christ Himself — Lord and Saviour. Self-examination, therefore, is not comparison with others, but reflection before Him. I am to examine myself in the light of Christ alone, allowing His character to shape what is formed in me — by grace, through faith.

But salvation is by grace through faith in God, not in a human being. Christ, the Son of man, must always be glorified and respected as the One who laid down His life on the Cross. Because, there is no book, nor sermon, nor Psalm which can remove the stain of the sin, but the blood of the Lamb.
  • The Living Word – When Eternity Makes Sense12/01/2026
The Logos, Jesus Christ, translated from eternity into time, opened heaven from the inside. Therefore, when He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6, KJV), Jesus was declaring a reality that had already happened and, at the same time, proclaiming the possibility of entering heaven by acknowledging that He is the incarnate Logos and Truth.
  • The Objection of Christmas – The Gospel of Luke, History, and the Limits of Silence for Personal Understanding27/12/2025
Silence in other historical sources equals non-occurrence. Luke’s account must be validated exclusively by external confirmation, rather than allowed to function as a historical witness in its own right. The unfair treatment of Luke's record, treating it as second-tier and not as an equal source of history. What Luke writes is not contrasting history, it rather complets a wider picture.
